Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor fans can now rejoice as the film Padmavati has got CBFC clearance. Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali must be a relieved man who has always maintained that his movie Padmavati is an attempt to showcase the strenght of Rani Padmini and based on the book. The producers will have to come up with a new title as CBFC has not approved the current title, Padmavati of the film. Is that fair?

Padmavati is based on the famous book Padmavat Book and CBFC has asked producers to change the name of their film to Padmavat.
Arvind Singh from Udaipur, Dr Chandramani Singh and professor K K Singh of the Jaipur University were the special panelists invited to decide the fate of the film.
CBFC has asked the makers of the film to undergo 26 cuts which can hurt the religious sentiments of people. The specific cuts include scenes in Ghoomar song, which has received protest and scenes showing sati. The film has faced violent protests in northers parts of India. For Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh fans, this will be the best news to welcome New Year.
Padmavati release date Not Announced yet!
Padmavati is the costliest film ever made in Bollywood history, and it needs to make at least Rs 150 Crores to be safe at the Box office. The film is the story of Rani Padmini and Alauddin Khilji played by Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. Both feel this can be a career-defining moment in their lives.
Padmavati was earlier scheduled to release on December 1, but due to violent protests, Viacom18 had indefinitely delayed the film. The producers had issued an official statement saying .We do not have an official release date of the film till now.
