padmavati ban

The problems of Deepika Padukones new film padmavati do not seem to end even after getting the CBFC clearance. The film continues to face protests in rajasthan and the Chief minister of the state has banned Padmavati (Padmavat).

The ruling party B.J.P, C.M. , Vasundhara Raje does not want to take any chances with the law and order and feels banning the film is the way to go. BJP Chief Ministers in other states like Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh had earlier said they will not be providing any security to Padmavati.

Padmavat will be releasin gon 25th january 2018 and will clash with Akshay Kumar Padman.  While rajasthan C.M is banning the movie in his state the Karni Sena continues with their protest and demands. Their latest demand is to change the names of the charachters. After the movie title demand was given into now they want the movie charachters name to be changed.

“We have a very clear stand since day one that we want this film to be banned. The committee made by the CBFC watched the movie and said the movie was vulgar and the facts were distorted. The film is made just to earn money. Along with the name of the movie, the characters names should also be changed.” Karni Sena – Speaking with DNA

The good thing for Deepika Padukone new film is that it has got the CBFC clearance but in India we know that it means for little as the state government bodies and local organisations approval need to be there.  Deepika padukone and Sanjay Leela Bhansali have said in various interviews that they will stand by the movie and see that it releases.

Padmavat is India’s costliest movie at Rs200 Crore and will need maximum screens to recover its budget.
